David Cahn

David Cahn is the founder and principal of synygis, which was set up in May 2003 to provide project management, logistics and operations management consultancy to the research industry. David’s previous post was Joint Vice Chairman of Research International UK (a WPP company), from1991.

Though an accomplished researcher, equally at home in fmcg markets or running large-scale policy surveys for large corporates and the public sector, David has increasingly specialised in business, commercial and especially operational management challenges. In the ‘80’s he headed up Research International’s Italian company, based in Milan, and was International Marketing Director for the RI Group, headquartered in London.

David managed the Operations portfolio at RIUK for over a decade, including the establishment and development of Research Resources as a separately trading, entrepreneurial and profitable subsidiary operating throughout Europe, pioneering many radical methodologies, including outsourcing, that later became mainstream.
He was a founding Council Member of the British Market Research Association and between 1997 and 2003 was responsible for collecting and disseminating the BMRA’s research industry statistics.

David graduated in social psychology from Sussex University, UK.
